ProAdventure reccomend keeping your boots as clean as possible. If you allow mud to dry on your boots the mud will pull moisture from your leather causing it to crack over time. If you keep them waxed with Altbergs Ledr-Gris Paste mud will easily wash off with a quick rinse and your boots will preform better, it's a win win.

Brush in Leder-Gris paste when the boots are ALMOST dry, use the brush to drive the wax-oil into the leather. Always treat with Leder-Gris paste before storing your boots.
